Non-NHS Work

In addition to the care that our doctors provide under the National Health Service, they are often asked to provide other services for which a separate charge is made. An explanatory leaflet and a list of the current charges are available for download here (DOCX, 96KB).

A further leaflet as to why we charge is available for download here (RTF, 38KB). Some of the more common examples are:

Medical examinations for insurance companies, employment and HGV or taxi driving licences.

At the time you book your consultation for a medical examination, please confirm whether the fee will be paid by your insurance company, employer etc or by you personally. These examinations take a full 30 minutes and it is essential, therefore, that you arrive on time, otherwise we may have to rearrange the appointment. If you fail to turn up or arrive late so that the examination has to be re-booked, we may charge 50% of the fee.

Medical reports for insurance, including travel insurance, and private medical claims, childminding applications and solicitors. Opinions on fitness to attend school, exams, work, gym or to travel.

Private patients are not normally taken on by this practice.

Application for firearms / shotgun certificates
The Rowan Tree GP Partners are conscientious objectors to gun ownership and no-one is available at the practice to complete anything related to these certificates.

If you need more information, please ask at reception.
